Charlie's education began in 1976 by earning his Bachelor of Arts in History from Claremont McKenna College. In 2011, he achieved a Doctor of Divinity from the Master’s International School of Divinity, specializing in Mastery of Biblical knowledge and doctrines.
Charles Speelman:
One of my passions is to train, equip, organize and lead God’s people so that they may experience other cultures. I have traveled to Thailand, India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, South Africa, Kenya and Cambodia. I have also overseen the organization and construction of an orphanage in Bangalore, India where I continue to raise financial support for the care of our children and provide administrative oversight. As a part of my Missions duties I have also been involved in pastor’s training and developing our church networks in India, Kenya and Nicaragua.
My personal conviction is that the Body of Christ as a whole has become increasingly weak in the area of personal evangelism. There are two primary reasons for this: First, most Christians do not feel adequately equipped and are subsequently fearful of actually sharing their faith with unbelievers. The second reason is that there is a genuine lack of compassion for those that are lost. More than ever before, my personal focus is on sharing my faith at every opportunity AND on equipping the church as a whole to be effective as a witness. In order to facilitate our church and others I have also become a ‘Share Your Faith Workshop’ presenter.
I greatly enjoy mentoring and encouraging pastors and helping them in their ministries via church consultation. I am also passionate about helping people and assisting them in living the lives they are called to live successfully.
I am an Advanced Certified Human Behavioral Consultant through Uniquely You Ministries and I use this certification to consult with individuals and churches that need help with team and interpersonal dynamics. I am also a certified Prepare-Enrich pastoral premarital and relationship counselor. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and I have completed the Institute in Biblical Counseling. I am a member of Master’s International Registry of Biblical Knowledge Specialists. Lastly, I am qualified to use Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis in pastoral counseling.
I am deeply committed to furthering my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have been married to my wife, Sally, for 50 years. I have three wonderful children and I am also a grandfather of five. I have been in Pastoral ministry for 44 years. I am passionate about God’s word and using it to equip the local Body of Christ. I eagerly take the Gospel worldwide having led more than 50 short term Mission trips.
